Team News

JJ Hooper and Greg Halford are both doubts for the game with the latter coming off in the second half of the draw on Tuesday night

What We're Saying

After a 1-1 draw with Bamber Bridge, Michael Connor said:

It came to not taking chances I think. You look at the first half and we've had four or five really good chances and they've had one opportunity from a corner where we haven't closed down the second ball and they've took their opportunity and then didn't have another shot until injury time. But we had enough oppourtunities to put that game to bed and you know what it is, i'll give the lads credit in the terms of we haven't had a coaching session with Doug yet and we have just put stuff on the board and getting them structured as best as we can and the lads bought into it today.

Opposition

Hyde United sit eighth in the NPL Premier Division standings, having won six and drawn seven of their 17 league matches this season.

Most recently, they drew 1-1 away with Prescot Cables as captain Jack Redshaw scored for The Tigres.

What They're Saying

After their draw with Prescot Cables, Nick Spooner said:

It was a tough game and a tough place to come to. Both decent teams, you know we're both going for it and I think again we could've put the game to bed, not early, but we had two or three early on and then we make a mistake and chase the game.

Last Time We Met

The sides last met in the 2015/2016 NPL Premier Division campaign as Blyth did the double over Hyde.

At Croft Park in September 2015 the Spartans won 3-0 and away at Ewan Fields in April 2016 they won 4-0.
