What We're Saying
After a defeat to Basford, Nathan Haslam said: “We came here of the back of a high against Mickleover.
“We were prepared and came here confident. We were looking to come here and get a positive result.
“As it turned out, it wasn't the result that we wanted as we lost the game, but you know I think we've come up against a much improved Basford team that has made four of five signings this week and has a new manager.”
Opposition
Stockton currently sit in fifth place, the final playoff position, in the NPL Premier Division with 46 points from 28 games.
In their last match, they defeated Workington AFC 3-1 away from home thanks to goals from Tom Coulthard, Michael Sweet and Stephen Thompson.
What They're Saying
After a 3-1 victory on the road, assistant manager JD Briggs said: “I'm really pleased again, I thought we built upon our midweek performance and won really well.
“After conceding early we didn't really get too down about it and kept playing and considering the pitch was quite tricky to play on I thought we played some really good football.”
Last Time We Met
The sides met at the MAP Group UK Stadium in September when the Spartans won 3-0 with all the goals coming in the second half.
Daniel Savage scored the opener after 52 minutes and he was quickly followed by Billy Gordon who doubled our lead nine minutes later. With 10 minutes to play Savage scored again to give Blyth a 3-0 victory.
