What We're Saying

Following a 1-1 draw on the road with Lancaster City, Nobby Solano said: "It was unfortunate for Harrison [Bond] to play the ball into one of their midfielders.

"So we tried to get back into the match as you see we didn't start well, to be honest, we were talking about how we should repeat what we did on Tuesday.

"If we are not consistent in this level it will be really tough and difficult to win games."

Opposition

Guiseley sit one pace above Blyth in the league table, 15th, as they have secured one win and suffered two defeats.

The Lions won their first game of the season on the opening day, enjoying a 2-0 over Workington but have since lost their next two consecutive games, both in 3-1 defeats from Stockton Town and Macclesfield.

What They're Saying

After a second 3-1 defeat in a row, Mark Bower said: "I thought we played well.

"We were at a massive disadvantage playing a Wednesday night away game, while they had a Tuesday night home game and that puts us at a disadvantage.

"I came and watched them on Tuesday night and saw how they moved the ball and the threats that they posed and they had chance after chance after chance, they were really good and very impressive, so we knew it would be difficult."

Last Time We Met

The sides last faced each other during the 2022/23 campaign in the Vanarama National League North and Emirates FA Cup.

The league meeting saw both sides winning their ties at home, with Blyth winning 1-0 at Croft Park through JJ O'Donnell and Guiseley winning 3-1 at Nethermoor Park, Robbie Dale scored for the Spartans on the day.

In the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round at Croft Park Spartans won the tie 2-0 through second-half goals from Michael Richardson and Lewis McNall.
