A perfect night for Matty

On Bonfire Night Matthew Wade provided a rocket that was the spark Spartans needed to take all three points against Droylsden. The young midfielder smashed home a sixteen yard volley to open the scoring half an hour in and then went on to provide an impressive assist for Spartans second goal, scored by on loan striker Sonny Andrews. Reflecting on a job well done Wade described his goal as "up there with the best I have scored" and felt his side were worthy of their win.

"It's a perfect night. A great victory, a clean sheet, an assist and a decent goal. The goal was right up there with the best I have scored. It just bounced up nicely and I just had to hit it. It was great to see it go in."

Six home games in four weeks have seen the Spartans supporters stretched in the pocket. Despite a hectic schedule the Green Army turned out again to help their side to another win and Wade paid tribute to the Croft Park faithful after the win over the Bloods.

"The supporters were great tonight. They really stuck behind us when they could have got frustrated when we couldn't get the first goal. They are important to us and it was great to see tonight. We have to win games like these and we have done our jobs"
