Amazing day for appreciatative Dale

Sunday, 9 November 2014

He's been here before hasn't he? This time there is something different for Spartans two goal hero Robbie Dale as he helped his side into the second round of the FA Cup. The long serving winger admitted that with experience has come an appreciation of all that has been achieved and all that is to come.

"It's amazing isn't it? I don't know if it's just me getting older or whatever but the young lads here are in the position I was in during the 2009 run. It's brilliant for them and it's just been an amazing day and hopefully there is more to come"

An incredible crowd of 1,763 made their way to Croft Park and the vast majority were sent home happy after a rampant display from Spartans. Dale thanked the Green Army for their support and stressed their importance to the players in the famous old green and white.

"When you play a team from two divisions above us you need the crowd on your side and they certainly were today. We made it tough for ourselves when they scored but the crowd stuck with us and we thank them for it. It was comfortable in the end"

Spartans will be ball number 39 in Monday night's second round draw and Dale's demands are simple.

"A league team, any league team, at Croft Park. That will do for me"
