April Podcast released tonight

The April edition of the official Blyth Spartans podcast will be released at 8pm tonight via the club's SoundCloud account. The show produced in association with Radio Northumberland will feature five separate interviews as well as goal highlights from the station's recent coverage of the home games against Ilkeston and North Ferriby United.

After his appearance as Guest Speaker at Spartans recent Sportsman's Dinner former Premier League Dermot Gallagher gives an exclusive interview and talks about his career, the standard of current refereeing and the importance of non-league football to the national game.

Spartans defender Joe Kendrick talks about his recent return to the fold at Croft Park and gives everyone a look inside the dressing room at just how team spirit is after a difficult season. The former Newcastle United and Mansfield Town man also expresses his admiration for the work done by manager Tom Wade in a revealing interview.

In the first two editions of the podcast Executive Committee members Chairman Tony Platten and General Manager Ian Evans have given in depth interviews and this month is the turn of Vice Chairman Kevin Scott. In a frank interview Kevin talks about new manager Tom Wade and his hopes for the future on and off the pitch and gives a fascinating refute of rumours linking the club with a return to the Northern League.

This month's "From the Terraces" features young Spartans supporter Nick Dormand, as he gives his thoughts on the season at Croft Park and his hopes for the future. Another new feature is introduced to the Podcast called "Media Talk". In the first edition local journalist Steve Brown discusses the local non league scene and his feelings about how Spartans have performed recently.

Also you can hear the goal highlights from Radio Northumberland's coverage of the thrilling 3-2 win over Ilkeston and the gut-wrenching injury time defeat against league leaders North Ferriby United.
