Armstrong Agrees To Extend Atkinson's Time At Spartans
Saturday, 7 January 2017
Blyth Spartans are delighted to have agreed a deal that sees Carlisle United right-back David Atkinson extend his loan deal at the club by another month.
The 23-year-old's original agreement expired on Monday January 2 and, with Spartans boss Alun Armstrong stating at the time of his arrival that he didn't envisage that the defender would remain at Croft Park past that point, Atkinson appeared to have signed off with the 3-2 win over Workington.
However, talks have been ongoing between the two clubs since then and the League Two side have allowed the former Middlesbrough man to remain in Northumberland until February 8 - meaning that he is eligible for this afternoon's trip to Coalville Town.
