Those that turned out for the chilly mid-week game at Croft Park were rewarded with a comfortable 3-0 Spartans win over bottom of the League Droylsden. Goals came from Matthew Wade, Sonny Andrews and Ryan Cummings in the win for the side selected by Assistant Manager Colin Myers and the result saw Blyth move up to fourth in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.
Elsewhere, an Andrew Fowler hat-trick inspired Marine to a 5-2 home win over Stafford Rangers. Fowler opened the scoring for the Mariners through an eleventh minute penalty, notched four minutes later then grabbed his third goal of the night on minute past the half hour mark. Michael Monaghan converted from the home side after 13 minutes but Kaiyne Woolery ensured Rangers had something to cling on going into the break by converting in the dying seconds of the first half. Louis Corrigan ensured that the result was put beyond any doubt, scoring 17 minutes from time before Sean Kinsella grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors eight minutes later.
Bradley Grayson also notched a consolation for his side, in the Gladiators' away defeat to promotion chasing Chorley. Jake Cottrell opened the scoring at Victory Park after just 360 seconds of play, before James Dean and Andrew Teague scored within 11 minutes of each other in the second half to ensure Chorley remain just one point behind League leaders Skelmersdale, with a game in hand.
The Dabbers came away from Kellamergh Park with a hard fought three points which could prove hugely important in the promotion chase later in the season. Two goals in the last 20 minutes from Aaron Burns and Benjamin Deegan cancelled out an early effort from Fylde's Daniel Lloyd-McGoldrick, as Nantwich ground out a victory over a Fylde side 14 places above them in the table.
In the final game of the night another away side returned home victorious as Barwell dispatched Stamford in front of a 158 strong crowd. The Kirkby Roaders scored twice in the first 45 minutes, through Anthony Griffith Jnr and Luke Barlone to take the three points back to the Midlands.
