Arrival | Jordan Hickey joins Blyth Spartans
Wednesday, 5 May 2021
Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to announce the signing of Jordan Hickey, who has put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
The Sunderland-born midfielder arrives at Croft Park having left League One side Hull City in February.
During his time at the KCOM Stadium, the 21-year-old appeared in the Checkatrade Trophy and spent time on loan at Whitby Town.
Hickey had trained with Blyth earlier this year, impressing manager Michael Nelson and assistant Michael Barron.
He joins Rhys Evans, Jamie Clark, Corey McKeown and Connor Thomson as those to commit to the club next season.
Hickey said: "It's good to be wanted.
"When I've spoken to the gaffer and Micky, they've drawn me to the club.
"I'm looking forward to getting started."
Michael Nelson, manager of Blyth Spartans, said: "Jordan is a player we looked at bringing in on loan last season but obviously it never materialised.
"I had good reports at the time from coaches I know at Hull and we are pleased to get him in on a permanent deal.
"He will give us energy, legs and a bit of bite in the centre of midfield as well as being very comfortable on the ball."
