Arrival | Amantchi re-signs for Blyth
Thursday, 26 November 2020
Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to announce Levi Amantchi has re-joined the club on a non-contract basis.
Amantchi is no stranger to Croft Park having enjoyed a three-month loan spell from National League side Chesterfield last season.
In his 16 appearances during that time, the striker netted twice - including a dramatic late equaliser in the 3-3 draw with Gateshead on New Years' Day.
But just days after his memorable outing against The Heed, the 19-year-old returned to The Spireites after they appointed a new manager.
He departed the Derbyshire club in May after three years in the summer.
Since then, Amantchi trialled at Middlesbrough before being snapped up by Darlington after briefly joining Workington.
He made four appearances for the Quakers, one of which came as a substitute in their FA Cup first round win at League One side Swindon Town.
We can also confirm Ade Gbolahan has left Blyth Spartans.
The former Eastbourne Borough striker appeared five times for the club after signing a non-contract last month.
Everyone at the club thanks Ade for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
Michael Nelson, manager of Blyth Spartans said: "I know Levi from my time at Chesterfield and am aware of his strengths and weaknesses.
"To get Levi in we unfortunately had to make room for him financially and had to let Ade go and we thank him for his efforts during his time at the club.
"Levi just seemed to tick more boxes than Ade with being from the area and knowing the club.
"I've spoken with Levi and he knows what I expect of him. Hopefully he can come in and provide some extra competition and firepower to our frontline."
