Arrival | Goalkeeping Coach Lee Barrass Joins Spartans Backroom Staff
Thursday, 10 August 2017
Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce the arrival of goalkeeping coach Lee Barrass.
Lee is a highly respected coach who has coached, mentored and looked after some of the country's best goalkeepers. With qualifications in psychology and talent identification - as well as coaching - Lee will undoubtedly strengthen an already strong goalkeeping department at the club.
Still actively training as a goalkeeper himself, the 39-year-old is also capable of playing if needed and can't wait to get going at Croft Park.
The former Newcastle United goalkeeping scout said: "Blyth is a massive club steeped in history. Being part of this club is amazing and I can't thank the club enough for asking me to help the goalkeepers.
"I'm very proud to be a part of this amazing club. Eeveryone has been extremely welcoming and we have a brilliant set of supporters... what a club!"
Currently running goalkeeping academies in the Gateshead area, the ex-Durham coach brings over 20 years of experience in the game - both on the pitch, at semi-pro level, and off it - and will work closely with Peter Jameson and Shaun MacDonald.
