Arrival | Greek forward joins Blyth Spartans
Monday, 20 July 2020
Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to announce the arrival of Greek forward Panos Katsamagkas.
Panos, who becomes the second Greek player behind Michal Misiewicz to represent the club, is Michael Nelson's latest signing having previously been on the books at National League outfit Harrogate Town.
He also spent time on loan at Ossett United in the early part of last season but will now represent Spartans in the upcoming campaign.
On signing for Blyth, Panos told blythspartans.com: "I'm very happy to sign for Blyth Spartans. I'm really excited for this upcoming season.
"I hope I can help the team achieve its goals for this season and also show everyone what I can do.
"I know it's going to be difficult but I believe in myself and the team. I work hard and I hope that I give the fans something to cheer for in every game."
Michael Nelson added: "We've been short on goalscorers, not just at the moment but last season as well.
"Panos got recommended to us by somebody I used to play with, so we brought him into training and we liked him as soon as we saw him in terms of his technical ability.
"It's been hard to see players and their true potential when you haven't been able to watch them play in games but as the guidelines have eased, we've been able to see more of him.
"We think he'll be a good fit for us. His attitude has been excellent, he's travelled up from Leeds each week and showed a real willingness and desire to improve and do well. "
