MAN OF THE MATCH
Wayne Buchanan
Buchanan was imperious at the heart of Blyth's defence on an eventful evening at Croft Park. The Ulsterman and his central defensive partner, Jordon Mellish managed to keep the Blue Square Bet North's leading goal scorer, Damien Reeves quiet for the duration of the game - with the striker's only real chance being his penalty conversion in the 95th minute.
After taking the lead Blyth came under intense pressure but it was invariably Buchanan who was putting his body on the line to prevent the visitors from scoring an equaliser. He appears to have taken the young Mellish under his wing and it can only bode well for the future if the pair can continue to put in such impressive performances.
