Blyth Spartans Sign Jamie Mole
Thursday, 27 October 2011
Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of former Hearts striker Jamie Mole.
The 23-year-old, who is originally from Newcastle, has played for the Edinburgh side for the last six seasons, amassing over 40 first team appearances and scoring 4 times in the SPL. He has also featured on loan for Raith Rovers, Dunfermline, Queen of the South and Livingston.
A friend of Spartans midfielder Neal Hooks, he has been training with the Spartans recently and has done enough to convince manager Steve Cuggy to offer him a deal. An added bonus for SpartansFans is that the striker has not featured this season in the FA Cup and will therefore be eligible for this Saturday's FA Cup 4th Qualifying round clash away at Droyslden (kick off 3pm).
Blyth Spartans' Manager Steve Cuggy commented "Jamie comes to us strongly recommended and clearly has a fair amount of pedigree. He has aspirations to get back into the full-time game which suits us, as Jamie knows that he'll boost these chances by playing well for us. His availability for the FA Cup is also handy as it gives us additional options up front, so he should be involved in the squad on Saturday."
"I don't think it is a secret that Graeme Armstrong has been playing at about 75% fit due to a back injury, so hopefully he'll be able to reduce the burden on him as well."
Welcome to the club Jamie.
