Blyth Spartans v Bishop’s Stortford Programme Preview

Friday, 19 August 2011

Bishop's Stortford travel to Croft Park tomorrow, with both sides eager to kick-start their seasons with a win.

With Spartans beaten by a late goal against FC Halifax Town, Steve Cuggy's side will look to push on in this game and not make further mistakes at the back.

Spartans welcome ex-England, Tottenham and Leicester goalkeeper Ian Walker and his Bishop's Stortford side to the away dug-out on Saturday, with Walker's men also looking to break their winless run.

Blyth fans will be hoping for a home win come full-time and, as ever, those making the trip to Croft Park will be able to get their hands on the club's official matchday programme.

In this edition of the essential matchday read, there is an exclusive interview with centre back Wayne Buchanan, where he explains his decision to remain with the club and gives us his view on our current crop of players.

The concluding part of Tommy Ditchburn's 'Green & White Cult Heroes' article sees 'Ditcha' reveal why he was at the centre of a media storm after scoring against Bury in the FA Cup and discusses why he finally left the club.

There's match coverage of our 2-2 draw with Histon and Tuesday's defeat against FC Halifax Town.

Our opposition pages bring you all the information you'll need on Bishop's Stortford. Plus, travel back in time to 1974 and read all about the only previous meeting between the two sides, in the FA Amateur Cup Fourth Round.

The programme costs £2 and will be available prior to kick off at both turnstiles, as well as inside the Social Club and the Club Shop.

If you can't make the game tomorrow, or indeed any other home fixture, you can order one from the Supporters' Club (however, please be aware that stocks are limited.)
