Blyth Spartans v Marine Programme Preview

Friday, 31 August 2012

Spartans will look to extend their unbeaten run in this fixture, when they entertain Marine on Saturday afternoon.

Blyth have won four and drawn one of the last five meetings with Marine, going back to a 0-0 draw in December 2004.

It will not be plain sailing for Spartans though - as The Mariners have won all four of their Evo-Stik League Northern Premier games this season, conceding only one goal.

Ahead of the 3pm kick-off, the official matchday programme will be on sale to give supporters all the information on our Merseyside opponents.

This issue has a decidedly "Dugout" feel to it, with Tommy Cassidy's column being joined by an interview with his new assistant, Paddy Atkinson.

Tommy looks back at Monday's 3-1 win over Whitby and reveals how that will help them in this game, while former player Paddy discusses his last spell at Croft Park and being sent to the stands during last week's 1-2 defeat against Hednesford Town.

Ian Evans uses his column to announce the amount raised for cover star Callum Brown's Callum's Wish to Walk campaign and he also has a special request for the players involved in this match.

Match reports from both the Hednesford and Whitby games are also included, along with the Port of Blyth Player of the Month page and the latest View From the Terrace column.

The programme costs £2 and will be available prior to kick-off at both turnstiles, as well as inside the Social Club and the Club Shop.

If you can't make the game, or indeed any other home fixture, you can order one - in advance of the game - from the Supporters' Club (however, please be aware that stocks are limited.)
