Blyth Spartans v Stocksbridge Park Steels Programme Preview
Monday, 20 August 2012
Evo-Stik League Northern Premier football returns to Croft Park after a six-year absence, with the visit of Stocksbridge Park Steels on Tuesday evening.
Spartans will hope to bounce back from a disappointing opening day defeat at Witton Albion, by repeating the result of the only other time these two sides have previously met on this ground.
After welcoming Steels here for an FA Trophy Second Round tie in November 2003, goals from Gareth McAlindon, Anthony Woodhouse, Jamie Burt and Graham Fenton sealed a 4-2 win for Blyth.
Following the close season break, fans wanting to submerge themselves in all things Spartans can get their hands on the official matchday programme.
Manager Tommy Cassidy features prodominantly in the first issue of the new season - with both his regular column and an in-depth interview, where he reveals his double disappointment at the club's first relegation and also talks about the difficulty of the league we now find ourselves in.
There is also insight from both General Manager Ian Evans and the return of Malcolm Stephenson's View From the Terrace column.
There is also match action from Saturday's clash with Witton, in addition to all of the information on our South Yorkshire-based visitors.
The programme costs £2 and will be available prior to kick off at both turnstiles, as well as inside the Social Club and the Club Shop.
If you can't make the game, or indeed any other home fixture, you can order one - in advance of the game - from the Supporters' Club (however, please be aware that stocks are limited.)
