TEAM NEWS
On the weekend we saw Spartans come home with three important points from the trip to King's Lynn. On Tuesday we host 3rd placed Ashton United in hope to reduce the gap on the play offs. A victory could see Blyth move up to 6th position and within four points of play off sides Workington, Curzon Ashton and opponents Ashton United. After Tuesday's game with Ashton United, Spartans have seven games to close the gap and finish in a play off spot, it will be a close finish, that is for certain.
Dan Maguire moved up to 19 league goals on Saturday, contributing with one of three goals scored. New signing Stuart Bramley made his debut against King's Lynn replacing Ryan Hutchinson after 24 minutes. He will be hoping that he has impressed Tom Wade enough for him to consider him for a starting place. Captain Robbie Dale also managed to get himself back on the score sheet in the first minute. He will be looking to add to his high goal scoring season. Last season's fixture with Ashton United ended with late goals coming from Danny Parker and Matthew Wade to secure a win for Spartans and first defeat of the season for United, who went on a run of nine games without losing.
