TEAM NEWS

This is Blyth's last midweek home game of the season, a game vital for Spartans' push for play offs and vital for the visitors Matlock Town to pick up points towards avoiding the drop, only being two points from fourth bottom Stamford. Blyth need to be playing their best football once again as we chase Curzon Ashton and other teams in the playoff hunt looking to pick up thre points and hope for points being dropped elsewhere. The Green and Whites are currently on great form, only losing one in the past 22 games and will be looking to make it 23. The Gladiators took a point from the reverse fixture at the Autoworld Arena back in August, the game ending 1-1, with the Blyth goal coming from Dan Hawkins.

A late winner from Captain Robbie Dale on Saturday saw Blyth record consecutive 2-1 home wins, both with Stephen Turnbull penalties being converted. The fans will be hoping the forwards will continue to cause the opposition defence endless panic. In an ideal world, Blyth could do with a convincing win with a lengthy goal margin, with a Curzon Ashton defeat away to Marine. There is no doubt that the season is going to go down to the wire, with fortune on our side and continued support from the supporters, the players will battle to help reward the club with more success.
