TEAM NEWS

5 games remain, a maximum of 15 more points available, one last final push for the play offs are required for all involved with Spartans to cap off an already extraordinary season. In our way on Saturday is fellow green and white side Nantwich Town. The Dabbers have taken 2 points off us this campaign at their ground and will be looking to cost us what would be 3 more vital points. Last Saturday Nantwich went and won 1-0 against play off rivals Curzon Ashton, no easy accomplishment, aswell as a 3-0 home win over Witton Albion. Blyth managed to take 3 points at home to Halesowen Town and a good point at Workington over the Easter Bank Holiday.

Michael Richardson has recently been a great asset to the team, contributing both in goals and endless running across entire pitch, we will be hoping to continue his fine form. Dan Maguire also is looking for that 1 goal to get his 20th league goal, his recent performances have deservedly awarded him Player of the Month for March. This fixture last season had the visitors 2-0 up after 18 minutes, only for Arjun Purewal and Dan Maguire to pegged them back for a draw. These are not a team to take lightly, especially when they are touching distance to the relegation drop, 6 points to be exact.

Blyth can get into the play offs on Saturday, but only if we win our game and Curzon lose to Kings Lynn Town. We will go above them on goals scored if goal difference is equal. Blyth has never beaten Nantwich, the 5 times we have played have resulted in 4 draws and 1 defeat, which took place last game of the season of 2012/13, when goalkeeper Conor Grant came on as an outfield substitute. From the squad of 16 on that day, only 3 remain at the club, Dan Maguire, Damon Mullen and Robbie Dale.
