TEAM NEWS
It will be a battle between two of the non-league FA Cup successes in the past two seasons on Tuesday as we welcome Salford City to Croft Park for a league fixture.
Spartans currently lead the Manchester side by four points and a victory over the club is seen by many as our closest title contenders could be the difference of going up as champions or settling for a playoff position. Blyth have already taken three points off their visitors when, back in September, an added time Arran Wearmouth winner as the only goal at Moor Lane.
Salford boast the league's best away record but have of late slipped up against Stourbridge and Nantwich Town, two teams which the Spartans have also recently recorded wins against. In such an important match, it could well be a case, for both teams, of one not to lose. Tom Wade took to social media on Saturday stating that Sean Reid may return to the bench for this game with Dan Maguire possibility returning on the weekend when we host Grantham Town.
An exciting tie is expected, with weather conditions likely to be windy and damp. Football played on the ground would suit the Spartans as we go hunting for a home win, a home debut for new signing Wilson Kneeshaw and a vital push towards the title.
IN THE AWAY DUG OUT
Anthony Johnson/Bernard Morely - Duo joined from Ramsbottom United in January 2015, gained promotion from the Evo-Stik Premier League North in the summer.
DANGER MAN
Josh Hine - Striker just joined from Chorley and scored on his debut in a 2-0 win over Buxton.
