TEAM NEWS

We got off to a flying start on the weekend as we took all three points on the road at Barwell. It's time to turn our attention back to Croft Park as we open the gates to Whitby Town. The Seasiders also got their season off to a great start with a convincing 4-0 win at home to Stourbridge on Saturday, which saw them top the league on goal difference. A tough tie is expected for both clubs as the closest distanced teams go head to head for the first time this year. The reverse fixture at Whitby is Wednesday 28th October.

Ste Turnbull scored the goal which saw Blyth leave Leicestershire with a win on Saturday and he will be looking forward to contributing towards the hopeful victory over the Blue and Whites, something which has not been achieved since August 2012. Dan Maguire made his official return as a sub on the weekend, also winning the penalty which decided the match for the Spartans.

Three points again tonight for Blyth will see us keep tabs on the top of the table sides going into next Saturday's home tie with Buxton, who beat title contenders Darlington 1883 on the opening day.

IN THE AWAY DUG OUT

Darren Williams - Ex football league player, been in charge since the departure of Tommy Cassidy back in October 2011.

DANGER MAN

Mikey Roberts - Joined from Spennymoor Town in the summer, a goal scoring threat with 20 goals for the Evo Stik Premier North side last season. He already has 1 goal to his name this campaign.
