Christmas Appeal a success!
Wednesday, 23 December 2015
Over the last week or so the Club has been collecting toys to help the flood victims in Cumbria.
A massive number of toys, suitable for boys and girls of all ages have been very kindly donated and representatives of the club yesterday drove a filled to bursting Luton box van load of Christmas cheer to Cumbria.
The project was the idea of Spartans fan John Parker who has also arranged K. Little Transport of Blyth to drive the toys to the north west free of charge in time for the festive season. Kev Little and John were assisted in the loading and unloading process by Liam Henderson and volunteers from Quantum Elite - Brian Delf and Ron Aspinall.
John said: "I just thought the football club could do something after the terrible floods over there and with Christmas coming up providing toys might help in some way.
"After we dropped off the toys The Eden Flood Volunteers group expressed their deepest gratitude to everyone who had thought of them during very tough times and suffering. But from our point of view it was just nice to be of some help."
