Club news | Generous supporter donates £1,000 to Spartans
Monday, 18 May 2020
Blyth Spartans AFC sends its utmost appreciation and thanks to exile supporter Graham Moorhouse for his generous £1,000 donation to go towards our annual pitch maintenance at Croft Park.
Graham, who lives in Alberta Canada with his wife June, is pictured above in our matchday hospitality suite after sponsoring one of our fixtures a couple of seasons ago.
And despite living over 3,500 miles away, Graham always keeps a close eye on Spartans and attends matches whenever he returns to Northumberland to visit friends and family.
His generous donation will help towards a process which includes re-seeding, 60 ton of top dressing, tining and fertilising to be carried out early-June.
Chairman Tony Platten said: "We are so grateful to Graham for his generosity and continued support, especially in this uncertain time.
"The annual pitch maintenance, along with groundsman Peter Henderson's efforts, is a vital factor in producing a high standard of playing surface for the upcoming season."
The club will be asking supporters to assist with additional maintenance at Croft Park - including painting, indoor cleaning and tidying etc - ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
More information will be released in the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on our club website and social media platforms. Please note, this is dependent on government guidelines.
