Club Statement | Covid-19 documentation & help needed
Thursday, 3 September 2020
Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to inform Stages 1, 2 and 3 of Covid-19 documentation have been completed and sent to the National League.
In guidance provided by the National League in late-July, the club was asked to complete a five-stage protocols process:
Stage 1 Return to Training
Stage 2 Return to Training, Close Contact
Stage 3 Return to Competition, No Spectators
Stage 5 Return to Competition, Safe Return of Spectators
The documentation submitted now allows us to play friendlies at Croft Park behind closed doors, as per our 3-2 friendly defeat to Morpeth Town on Tuesday evening.
Please note, the club is unable to complete Stage 5 documentation (to allow supporters to return) because the legislation has not yet been published by the government and FA.
With a return to some sort of normality in mind, there are various maintenance tasks that require completion.
We ask any supporters who have skills in any aspect of DIY to please contact general manager Mike Coulson at [email protected] and register the skills they have and in what area they could help.
We will make arrangements for them to help the club. Anyone who is on furlough can help out as this will be voluntary work.
