Club Statement | National League North suspension
Friday, 22 January 2021
Following discussions with the League Management Committee, the majority of National League North and South Clubs voted that they could not continue to operate whilst there was uncertainty about ongoing grants to compensate for lost revenue due to no spectators being allowed to attend games. The National League Clubs decided that they could continue playing.
The majority of National League North and South clubs were unwilling to take out loans to replace grants as this would have serious implications on the long-term future viability of their Clubs. No grants were received for the month of January and this will have financial implications.
The season is suspended for two weeks to allow further time for discussions with the DCMS and the FA.
