Club Statement | Rest in Peace, Ken Teasdale
Saturday, 8 May 2021
Blyth Spartans AFC is absolutely devastated to learn the passing of lifelong fan and long-serving volunteer Ken Teasdale.
Ken, the club's stadium announcer, was the voice of Croft Park for many, many years. His passion and knowledge of the club was second to none.
When Robbie Dale scored from the halfway line against Workington in March 2016, Ken leapt out of the press box to celebrate before returning to announce it over the tannoy.
He absolutely adored Blyth Spartans and Blyth Spartans adored him.
Spartans blood has always run in the Teasdale family with Ken's grandfather being appointed groundsman in 1945. His wife also worked at the clubhouse in the 1990s.
Ken was pleased to hear about the club's latest signings this week and had keenly watched the progression of the Robbie Dale mural, seconds away from his home.
His second home of Croft Park will sorely miss his presence. Blyth Spartans AFC has lost a massive member of its family.
Our deepest thoughts and condolences go out to Ken's family - including wife Maureen, son Ross, daughter Kerry and sister Linda - and friends at this difficult and sad time.
