Club Statement | Thank you to Michael Barron & Stephen Turnbull

Wednesday, 1 December 2021

Blyth Spartans AFC would like to place on record its gratitude to Michael Barron and Stephen Turnbull following the end of their interim period.

Barron, who joined the club in September 2020, took charge of the team - beating Guiseley 1-0 in National League North before suffering a narrow FA Trophy exit at York City.

He departs with the best wishes of everyone at the club.

Tony Platten, chairman of Blyth Spartans, said: "I have already personally thanked Michael Barron for his professionalism in staying with the club as interim manager but would also like to place my appreciation on record.

"I would also like to thank Steven Turnbull for his commitment to the club, albeit that it coincided with the birth of his second child.

"It goes without saying that we congratulate him and his wife on the birth."
