Club volunteers honoured by Rotary Club

It's been a busy twelve months at Blyth Spartans and thanks to over thirty volunteers at the club that period has been a very successful one on and off the pitch.

That hard work has not gone unnoticed as the volunteers at Blyth Spartans have been officially recognised by the Rotary Club.

A three man delegation from Spartans was on hand to collect the award at a Rotary Club dinner on Thursday afternoon.

General Manager Ian Evans was part of that delegation and he stressed just how valuable the volunteers at Croft Park are to the club.

"As everybody knows without the thirty or so volunteers on matchday we simply would not be able to put on a game. This last season, due to our success in the FA Cup, many of the volunteers have put in extra shifts.

I, along with Doug Ramsey and Colin Blackett, were more than honoured to accept this award on behalf of our many volunteers"
