Friday, 22 November 2024

Blyth Spartans are pleased to announce that Cyril Giraud has joined the club from Bishop Auckland FC.

The French forward becomes the sixth signing for Spartans under new manager Michael Connor and the CIC ownership.

Giraud joined Bishop Auckland on September 5, 2024, following a spell at Ashington AFC.

He has played 23 times this season for both Bishop Auckland and Ashington across the NPL Division One East, Emirates FA Cup, Isuzu FA Tropgy and Durham Senior Cup, scoring six times. Giraud also scored for Ashington against Auckland in the FA Cup to send the game to a replay which Auckland eventually lost.

The 24-year-old arrived in the North-East in 2019, leaving French Third Division side Chateauroux, to study and join Newcastle Benfield, before moving on to Thornaby, Consett AFC and West Allotment Celtic before joining Ashington in June 2024.

Welcome to Blyth, Cyril!
