Davis targets improvement after agreeing Spartans stay

"Disappointing" was how Blyth Spartans striker Ash Davis described missing out on the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League play-offs. However after agreeing to stay with the club for the 2015/16 season the former Whitley Bay frontman is already targeting an improvement in the sixth place finish Tom Wade's side achieved last season.
"I am very happy to be staying with the club as last season I was really just there to help out as and when I was needed after returning from the States.
I still felt a slight disappointment with the result in the last game of the season and the fact it meant we missed out on the play-offs so I am looking forward to getting back to working hard in pre-season and seeing if we can improve on what was already a successful campaign last year"
Davis will also find a familiar face when he does return to pre-season training. Spartans first signing of the close-season was midfielder Paul Robinson, a player Davis has shared a dressing room with at Spartans and Whitley Bay and he admitted he couldn't wait to play with Robinson again.
"Obviously I have played with Robbo before in our time at Whitley Bay and his previous spell with Spartans and I can't wait to link up with him again here"
