Departure | MacDonald's Loan Spell At Spartans Ends

Thursday, 13 April 2017

Loan goalkeeper Shaun MacDonald has left Blyth Spartans to return to parent club Gateshead - after an injury to James Montgomery left the Vanarama National League Premier short of options between the sticks.

The 20-year-old stopper - who enjoyed a loan spell at Northern League club Consett earlier in the season - arrived at Blyth less than a month ago when Adam McHugh picked up an injury. Acting as back up to fellow loanee Paul Woolston, MacDonald was unable to record an appearance for the club before being re-called.

The club would like to thank Shaun for all of his efforts during his time at Croft Park and wish him well for the future.
