Dublin 2 Blyth - Trip Update

Friday, 11 November 2011

As mentioned previously on this site, there is a charity bike ride to raise money for the Scott Bell Fund taking place next May, to co-incide with Scott's benefit game (5th May). Whilst the final route from Dublin to Blyth is still to be confirmed, it can announced that the bike ride may have as many as 32 cyclists taking the trip!

The Irish side of the event is being co-ordinated by Fergus Dowd, with the Blyth side is being organised by Tony Parker.

The Blyth-based cyclists who are taking part in this epic trip are Gary Bell, Chris Tunn, David Johnson, David Cooney, Chris Yorke, Tony Parker, Martin Ellis, Craig Watson, Sarah Watson, Rob Shanks, Neil Welch, Gary Jackson, Mark Carney, Den Clasper, Bill Robson and Paul Keogh - with Kevin Little offering up his assistance to be back up driver.

The lads in Ireland have also obtained several items of signed sporting goods, which will be auctioned in the run up to the event (more details to follow) again with the monies raised going to Scott's fund.

Should you wish to get involved and sponsor the lads (and lass) on what is sure to be a fantastic, if tiring, journey, please click

The club would like to thank everyone involved for their time and efforts to date!
