MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING OF BLYTH SPARTANS AFC HELD ON MONDAY 9th FEBRUARY 2009.

Present : A Platten, K Scott, I Evans, C Baxter, S Ord, G Young & B Davison.

1 MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.

a) The minutes of the last meeting (26.01.09) were approved.

2. MATTERS ARISING.

a) Player's presentation kit and kit for HMS Blyth still awaited. IKE confirmed that the invoice for Draeger would not be raised until the kit has been delivered.
b) Testimonial committee has been formed.
c) IKE has confirmed to the Mayor our acceptance to attend the civic reception on the 18th of February.
d) IKE confirmed that he has written to both Newcastle United and Glasgow Celtic in relation to pre season and 100 years at Croft Park. This year's charity game will be on Sunday the 21st of June against the Hollyoaks celebrity team. This year funds will be raised for the Children's Foundation.
e) SO in discussion with the NFA with regards to replacement goalposts.

3. CORRESPONDENCE

a) CB has received notice from Carlsberg informing the club of further price increases. He will report on the effect to SP at the next meeting.
b) The quote from the contractors, who built the Carlsberg Stand, regarding a new stand at the Croftway end is higher than anticipated. Quotes from two further contactors have been requested.
c) A letter from John Jones, the FA's referees secretary, has been received in reply to IKE's "letter of concern" regarding the none completion of our last two matches by the appointed match referees. After discussion it was agreed no further correspondence was necessary on this issue.
d) A reply from the "substitute" referee regarding damage to the fencing in the car park has also been received. After discussion it was agreed not to pursue this matter.

4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

a) A " To do list" was to be compiled for the summer. All requests should be e-mailed to IKE.
b) IKE will release details of admission reductions for the remainder of the season, based on reductions for Tuesday night matches.
c) IKE confirmed that invite letters to this year's sportsman's dinner would be sent out to sponsors later this week. The dinner will be held on Friday the 3rd of April when our guest speaker will be the ex Everton captain Dave Watson.
d) IKE will book a table at the NFA's sportsman's dinner to be held on Friday the 20th of March.
e) IKE will distribute the 50 training balls as discussed. A number will be kept for presentations to match sponsors.
f) IKE reviewed the current disciplinary records. Both G Williams and A Leeson were on four yellows and subject to the "amnesty" period were one yellow card away from a one-match suspension.
g) IKE reported on the revised fixture programme for the remainder of the season. If the Southport game, scheduled for tomorrow, is to be re-arranged we are playing twice a week for the remainder of the season, apart from next Tuesday (17th Feb)

5. NEXT MEETING.

Monday the 2nd March 2009
