FA Cup | Spartans host Minstermen in fourth qualifying round

Monday, 8 October 2018

Blyth Spartans have been drawn at home to fellow Manarama National League North side York City in the final qualifying round of this season's Emirates FA Cup.

Alun Armstrong's side overcame Gainsborough Trinity 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to secure their place in the fourth round of qualifying - with City defeating St Ives 3-0 at Bootham Crescent.

Speaking after Saturday's game, Armstrong will be delighted to finally have a home FA Cup draw this season.

"Each game we've been drawn away this year, I'd be over the moon to have a tie at home."

"Hopefully we can get a big crowd behind us, it's the FA Cup, anything could happen."

The tie will take place at Croft Park on Saturday 20th October at 3pm - the Manarama National League North tie will be re-arranged in due course.

Fixture details will be confirmed but it's likely segregation will be in place for the FA Cup tie.
