Farrell praises fellow frontman Airey

Spartans striker Craig Farrell was delighted with the 3-1 win over Whitby Town and sung the praises of his strike partner Phil Airey after the former Newcastle United striker scored his second goal in two games with the opener in the win at the Turnbull Ground. Farrell said "He's got great ability and he's definitely a finisher, his two good finishes in his last two games have shown that. His movement is excellent and we need to create more for him, his movement deserves more goals and chances and he will go on to score a lot of goals for us, I'm sure of that".

Whilst it was a profitable day in the scoring stakes for Airey, Farrell was a frustrated figure post match and reflected on "one of those days" at the Turnbull Ground. The twenty nine year old hitman said "I could have still been here next week and still not scored, it was one of the those days for me and I shouldn't be missing chances like that but it happens from time to time".

Despite being disappointed with not being able to get himself on the scoresheet, Farrell was delighted with his side's response from the defeat at home to Hednesford Town on Saturday. "We were very poor on Saturday and rightly didn't get anything from Hednesford but today, in particular in the last twenty minutes we came together as a team. Our passing and movement was much better and we would definitely have taken that at the start of the game."

Farrell will be looking to have better luck when Marine visit Croft Park on Saturday afternoon with a 3pm kick off.
