Friendly | Spartans travel to Pools on Saturday

Thursday, 17 September 2020

Blyth Spartans travel to Hartlepool United on Saturday afternoon in their fifth friendly of pre-season.

Michael Nelson welcomed his old club to Croft Park last weekend and the two sides played out a competitive 2-2 draw.

It was agreed by both managers at full-time to meet again at Victoria Park this weekend, which can now be officially announced.

Kick-off is at the slightly earlier time of 1pm and behind closed doors. We have been informed live streaming will not be allowed.

We will, however, welcome back Blyth Live for the first time this season.

No Spartans fan needs reminding of what happened last time we played at the Vic in December 2014.

Stephen Turnbull's free-kick and a late Jarrett Rivers winner ensured Blyth famously progressed to the third round of the FA Cup in a 2-1 win, live on the BBC.
