Goal hero Farrell wants the easy life

After hitting a late winner at Stocksbridge Park Steels tonight Spartans matchwinner Craig Farrell says his side has to learn to kill off games easier and ensure that they make things easier on themselves and the fans. The former York City striker said "We've not made it easy on ourselves again and we have conceded some silly goals but a win is a win and we are over the moon with the three points. It was a hit and miss performance but we have to say that in the last twenty minutes we started moving the ball around much better shifting it side to side and making them work. We created space well and chances came with that."

As much as three points are appreciated Farrell insists that there is much room for improvement from the team and it's down to consistency in their performances. "We are playing in patches of twenty minutes and we have to play for ninety minutes and make things easier on ourselves. If we put it together for ninety minutes we will fly up this league".

However following the heartache of Marine's last minute equaliser on Saturday at Croft Park, Farrell was delighted to be on the right side of a late winner after thinking he had sealed a notable win over the Merseysiders just forty eight hours earlier. "After conceding late on Saturday we went 3-2 up with eight minutes left and managed to concede but tonight it was a great moment to hold out for the win tonight". Farrell will be looking for more memorable moments when Garforth Town travel to Croft Park on Saturday for an FA Cup first qualifying round fixture.
