Harry Gardiner signs for Blyth Spartans
Sunday, 25 August 2024
Harry Gardiner has signed Blyth Spartans on a permanent basis for the duration of the 2024/25 NPL Premier Division season subject to FA approval.
He will be unable to feature for Spartans on Bank Holiday Monday against Morpeth Town, but he will be available for the Emirates FA Cup tie against Campion AFC.
Gardiner joins following his release from Sunderland AFC in July 2024, having most recently played his trade at Croft Park between January to April.
An injury ruled out Gardiner for the remainder of the campaign, but he still managed five goals in 14 appearances in the Vanarama National League North.
During his time at the Academy of Light, the 20-year-old featured for the under-18 and under-21 squads, where he managed 10 goals and assists in 25 matches for the under-18s and 11 goals in 23 games for the under-21s.
On joining Blyth permanently, Harry Gardiner said: "I'm delighted to be back here, the club has been great to me since I got injured and I'm glad we could get a deal done.
"It's a great group of lads as well as the staff and I can't wait to be back playing."
Director of Football, Steve Howard added: "I'm absolutely delighted to sign Harry.
"He was one of the highlights from last season and unfortunately got injured at the end. His quality, work rate and attitude are fantastic and he certainly knows where the back of the net is.
"He's a really exciting signing and one I'm really pleased about!"
Welcome to Blyth, Harry!
