Hats quite a gesture

There were some new additions in the Spartans dressing room prior to the Droylsden game last night but for once Tom Wade and Colin Myers haven't been busy bringing new recruits into their squad. Blyth Spartans AFC Official Supporters Club Chairman Iain Charlesworth and committee member Doug Ramsey were on hand to present members of the squad with new Spartans woolly hats in preparation for a busy winter.
On a freezing cold November night the hats were put to good use straight away as the lads could been seen sporting the hats during the warm up and anyone at Croft Park last night will agree they were needed.
Manager Tom Wade sent his thanks to the Supporters Club after their donation. He said "This year we have been trying to add little touches to look after the players and the Supporters Club donating the new hats have really helped us. It's a little touch but come those winter nights at Croft Park I am sure they will become a regular sight. We really appreciate what they have done and hope to repay them by continuing our good start to the season"
