Hooks In Biggest Game Of His Life
Wednesday, 23 February 2011
Creative midfielder Neal Hooks is hoping he can take his excellent form in to what he describes as the biggest game of his life against Gateshead on Saturday.
Blyth's player of the month for January has been a real driving force from midfield alongside the equally impressive Michael Tait in the Spartans engine room.
Speaking ahead of the FA Trophy Quarter Final clash, Hooks said. "This is certainly the biggest game I've played in.
"There's so much at stake, it's a local derby but most importantly there's a place in the semi final of the Trophy up for grabs."
He added. "It's been fantastic to get this far but we just want to carry it on and believe we have what it takes to do that."
Hooks has shown his true quality as an all-round midfielder this season with his desire to get involved with attacking moves just as strong as his willingness to roll up his sleeves put in a shift for the team.
He said. "I've been pleased with the way I've been playing recently. My performances have improved and I've managed to add goals to my game.
"Everybody has a real understanding, we all know what we should be doing and the organisation and discipline is evident in the results we've been getting."
