Hurst joins Media Team

There's a new signing at Croft Park but Tom Wade hasn't added another new face to his squad. Cameraman Stephen Hurst(pictured above filming an interview with Wade) has joined the club's Media Team and has already been in action filming and putting together highlights packages of our last three home games, conveniently coinciding with three victories over the Christmas period. He comes with a wealth of experience and as the man himself explained he hopes to put that to good use with Spartans YouTube channel BSAFCTV.

"Being a cameraman has allowed me to travel to lots of different football grounds, and meet lots of people. I have been lucky enough to film Premier league and Europa League games at St James Park, and have also filmed at Wembley Stadium. and have produced work for BBC, ITV, the FA, and NUFCTV"

Most recently Hurst has worked for Sky Tyne and Wear but has also gained valuable experience working with Newcastle United and Northern League side Whitley Bay. He explained that covering non-league football was a passion and he hoped his work could benefit both the club and himself.

"I have loved covering non-league football for the past five years or so, and enjoy the passion of football at this level. Working for Blyth Spartans media team will give me a great opportunity for me to show what I can do, and give the club some good exposure"

The highlights of the wins over Stamford, Barwell and Stocksbridge Park Steels have all being received well by the Green Army. With the addition of the highlights - which feature commentary from Radio Northumberland's Jonny and Mark - as well as various other upcoming features that BSAFCTV will offer Hurst hopes that Spartans supporters will be given an even greater insight into life behind the scenes at Croft Park.

"I hope that the fans will like the content, and the exclusive coverage that BSAFCTV will offer. I would welcome any ideas and suggestions that supporters have on how to improve the channel. I am really enjoying working for the club, and the reaction to the YouTube channel has been amazing. I think pairing the video highlights with Mark and Johnny's commentary works really well. Everyone at the club has made me feel extremely welcome, and hope I can keep providing supporters from home and abroad with some great highlights"
