Michael Cain has revealed the one thing that instantly struck him about Blyth Spartans ahead of joining the club.
The former Leicester City youngster, 25, penned a three-month deal at Croft Park having trialled with Blyth in pre-season.
Indeed, Cain caught the eye of a number of supporters who watched Spartans play out a 2-2 draw with National League side Hartlepool United.
And Cain himself also got a good feel for the club, admitting he was immediately impressed by his future management and teammates.
He told blythspartans.com: "I was here for a brief spell during pre-season and what instantly struck me was that it was a fantastic group of people to work with both on and off the field.
"I've never played against Blyth so it was a fresh outlook when I first walked in the door but you can tell from the set up, the facilities and the personnel that it's a very, very good club.
"I believe I can add some creativity and bring some experience in terms of how to pick up results and move up the table.
"On a personal level, I hope that I can add some goals and put my stamp on the team, which can help the club progress."
Cain, who had been building his fitness at Northern League Division One side Bishop Auckland, could make his debut at Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.
And Cain has explained why his Blyth debut will be "extra special".
He added: "A first competitive game for any team is special but due to the current times we are in with all the uncertainty in the world it's been a while since I last played, so it will be extra special.
"Kidderminster have always been known for being a well-respected team who will make it difficult for any team they come up against.
"Hopefully we can play the way we want to and build a strong start for the rest of the season."
