Paul Blackett believes it was a team effort as his injury-time equaliser earned Blyth Spartans a point against Farsley Celtic.

Ashley Smith-Brown opened the scoring for Farsley in a first-half the visitors just shaded before Michael Nelson's half-time team talk sparked a superb reaction.

Blyth had their chances but it looked as though The Celt Army would hold on for three points until Blackett popped up in the 91st-minute.

"I think it was more of a team performance to be honest," he told blythspartans.com.

"The team's performance has given me the chance to go and try to get a goal.

"In the second-half, we ran them ragged, so we definitely deserved something out of the game. We could have possibly even won it.

"First-half - there were a few chances I should have done better with but you've got to keep going.

"That's what I did and thankfully I got the goal at the end."

The 22-year-old, on loan from Gateshead, netted his sixth goal of the season in just seven matches - making him one of the in-form strikers in National League North.

With Hereford next up at Croft Park this weekend, can Blackett add to his tally again?

"Hopefully, he said. "I think it's four league games in a row now that I've scored.

"I'm just trying to carry on the momentum in each game.

"I think Thursday will be more of a recovery session. We'll go through how to set up against them (Hereford) and get a little bit of work into the legs."
