Blyth Spartans' Rhys Evans spoke to our media team after a 4-1 defeat to Southport on Saturday.
Blyth fell behind after just two minutes as Brad Bauress blasted home from inside the six-yard box.
Blyth grew into the game and thought they had levelled when Lewis Hawkins' shot squirmed through Albinson, but he recovered in time and grabbed the ball before it crossed the line.
A second and third followed for Southport before half-time.
Evans then pulled one back early in the second half, but just minutes later, Spartans conceded a fourth as a long throw into the box was flicked on and slotted home by Ryan Astles.
After the game, Evans could not hide his disappointment after another frustrating afternoon for Blyth.
The defender, when asked about the game, said: "Disappointing the first half especially, four poor goals again we can't keep giving them away, or we are never going to win games.
"We need to tighten up defensively because we know we have got people at the other end of the pitch who are going to win games for us.
Jack Sanders made his debut after he joined the club on loan from Wigan Athletic and Evans was full of praise for the centre-back,
"Good debut, he is a big man who wins his headers, so good debut."
Evans also scored his first goal for the club, but he was more concerned with the result than any personal accolades.
He said: "It doesn't mean anything when you don't come away with any points. I think the main thing is getting the points, and we didn't do that, so the goal doesn't really mean much."
Looking ahead to Gateshead Evans said: "Huge game these types of games can turn your season around, put a good performance in on Boxing Day get a win and get some momentum going.
"We know the festive period is busy; we have a lot of games, and Gateshead is a big one."
