Thursday, 8 August 2024
Blyth Spartans are pleased to confirm the signing of French midfielder Isiah Cornet.
The 22-year-old joins us following the expiration of his contract at Middlesborough after five years on Teesside.
He joined Boro in 2018 following a successful trial as a 17-year-old when he departed his then-youth side, US Torcy a fifth-tier French Division side.
Cornet played for both the under-18 and under-21 sides for the Boro academy in the FA Youth Cup, Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2, scoring at both levels.
The midfielder was loaned to Spennymoor Town in November 2023, but suffered an injury on his first appearance for the club, leading to a return to Boro.
On arriving at Croft Park, Isiah said: " I'm excited to play for Blyth and looking forward to the season"
On the signing, Nobby Solano said: " He's a exciting young talent and a very good technical midfielder.
"I'm more than happy in the last few weeks with the signings and happy to get a squad together that is bigger now.
Welcome to Blyth, Isiah!
