Joseph Abrahart joins Spartans

Blyth Spartans are delighted to confirm that Joseph Abrahart has signed a one-year deal at Croft Park.

Abrahart joins following a spell at South Shields International Academy where he played 22 times in the 2023/24 season scoring six goals and bagging six assists.

Playing his trade in the National Football Youth League, he made the joint most appearances for the Mariners and also featured for North Shields numerous times in the Ebac Northern Football League Division One.

Previously the 24-year-old moved to Canada at 14 to play for the Alberta U13 north team and was in the provincial U14 training program before he signed a scholarship at MacEwan University where he played between 2017 and 2022 and won U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian (2020-21) and Named to MacEwan's Three Stars list once during the 2021-22 season.

Following his spell at MacEwan University he moved to Philadelphia to play for the Philadelphia Loan Stars in the USL League Two.

On arriving at Croft Park, Joseph said: "Yeah I'm really excited for the opportunity when Nobby and Steve reached out to potentially come here.

"I was really excited by the chance to come and get into training and I'm really excited for the season and looking forward to what we can achieve."
