Life’s a beach for Magpies new boy Perez at Croft Park

He spent last season impressing scouts from around Europe in Spain's Segunda Division with Tenerife and this season he will be battling for a place in Newcastle United's first team. But Ayoze Perez took in his first ever live game in England on Saturday afternoon, not at St James Park but at Croft Park.
The Spanish winger admitted that he didn't know a lot about Blyth before he took in the 1-0 friendly win over Whitley Bay but said he was impressed by the Spartans set up and more importantly the beach!
"I'm really impressed by the Blyth Spartans setup. Clubs in Spain who play at a similar level don't have facilities like this and I am pleased to be here watching the club. I didn't realise that there was a beach or that it would be so nice and it is different to where I am from but it is beautiful"
The twenty year old was experiencing his first game in England as Robbie Dale's stunning strike midway through the first half gave Tom Wade's side a win over the Seahorses and Perez was delighted to be experiencing the "special atmosphere" that he has heard about
"I have been looking forward to it. Back in Spain we hear about the famous atmospheres in England and the passionate way the supporters follow the game. It's my first taste of an England club and I am looking forward to seeing the game"
While Perez enjoyed the game he did admit that he couldn't wait to run out in front of a full crowd at St James Park as the Magpies look to improve after an slightly underwhelming campaign last time out.
"I am happy to be here and I can't wait to run out at St James Park and see how the atmosphere is there because I have heard so much about it. I can't wait to experience the atmosphere of a full on, full St James Park in a Premier League game"
