Maguire rues missed chances

Although Spartans were handed their first home defeat of the season by FC United of Manchester, striker Dan Maguire felt they had chances to make it an altogether more positive outcome. Maguire, Paul Robinson and Arran Wearmouth all came close but the former Seaton Delaval man admitted no taking their opportunities cost them.
"They will be right up there in the league at the end of the season and are one of the best sides we will face. It was tough but we had our chances including a couple that I should have done better with. Had we taken our chances it could have been a totally different game and not doing that has cost us"
There is a chance for Maguire and his team mates to bounce back on Saturday as Buxton head to Croft Park for a Non-League Day fixture. Although as Maguire admitted it won't be easy for Tom Wade's side, especially as the Derbyshire outfit completed the league double over Spartans last season.
"It is a difficult game on Saturday but we are at home and we have our supporters behind us again. We have to show them we will bounce back from tonight and get a win against Buxton"
