TEAM NEWS
Blyth Spartans return to Evo-Stik Premier League action with a long trip to Leicestershire on Saturday to face Barwell. Blyth are fresh from a resounding 7-1 victory over Goole AFC in the FA Trophy on Tuesday evening, while Barwell lost out 2-1 to Matlock Town in the league.
A comprehensive performance from Spartans saw hat-tricks from both Dan Maguire and Luke Armstrong, while Richard Pell wrapped up the scoring with his first since returning to the club - as Blyth progressed into the next round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.
Blyth are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions and have won each of their last three league games. Meanwhile, Barwell have just one win in their last five league games - with that victory coming against Hednesford Town -and currently languish in 18th position.
The Canaries have suffered too many draws in games this season, which has hurt their challenge for the playoff places. One of the problems they have faced is in front of goal, with only 17 goals scored from their 17 games so far.
Blyth captain Robert Dale was an unused substitute on Tuesday evening after sitting out the original tie against Goole with a foot injury, while both Matty Pattison (ankle) and Nathan Buddle (back) weren't risked. Sean Reid hobbled off with an knee injury on Tuesday night and Adam McHugh is also an injury doubt, so Newcastle United goalkeeper Paul Woolston could make his Spartans debut between the sticks at Barwell.
